Originally from Maldon, Essex, I picked up photography as a hobby during Sixth Form and began taking up small jobs, photographing school clubs and theater performances. In September 2022 I moved to Exeter to study Economics and Politics and joined the Exeter University Photography Society where I have met a number of other talented photographers and was elected as Social Secretary in 2023 and President in 2024. Through this society I started doing photography professionally in December 2022, it has been an incredibly fun journey and I have shot many events for various different societies and nightclubs in Exeter. I really enjoy event photography, capturing all the important moments of a night and have had some really fun experiences and great photos to show for it. Some highlights of my career include the 2024 Hijacked Festival, the Exeter Dance International Film Festival since 2022, and Sammy Virji at Fever in Exeter.
In 2025 I plan to stay in Exeter after graduation to complete my PGCE in secondary education.
The first DSLR camera I used was a Canon 1300D which served me well to start off with, using an 18-200mm zoom as well as various vintage lenses (one of my favourites being the Helios 44m-2). I decided to upgrade to a Panasonic Lumix G80 which has worked wonders for shooting both formal events and on the street. My go-to lens for this is the Olympus 12-40mm f2.8, with great low-light capabilities and more room for variety in shots that a prime lens doesn't offer.
Outside of professional work I like travelling, photographing the streets of cities, the architecture and the people. Some of my recent travels include Hong Kong and the Netherlands. Hong Kong is an incredibly beautiful and photogenic city, and something different to the European landscapes I'm used to. I visit friends in the Netherlands frequently; I love capturing the horizons of the Dutch countryside and the unique architecture of cities like Utrecht.
My full kit: Panasonic Lumix G80, Olympus 12-40 f2.8, Olympus 40-150 f2.8, Panasonic G 25mm f1.7, Neewer TT560 Speedlite, GoPro Hero 10
